.:NEKO-TOKYO AT A GLANCE:.
Ooh, time for a history lesson, eh? You must be pretty bored if you are actually going to read this... ^^;
Creation and a Name -
This site was created on October 5th, 2003. I had just gotten into the series during the summer, and my original idea was to make a site to Ryou and Ichigo. The name Neko-Tokyo doesn't have too much of a story behind it. The neko part of it - the Japanese word for "cat" - comes from Ryou and Ichigo both being able to turn into cats. The Tokyo part comes from the setting, (duh?) Tokyo, Japan. The dash just looked cool and held the name together. (I also found out later there had been a Sailor Moon site called Neko Tokyo, but it had already shut down.) I liked this couple from the start, but I soon realized that I liked Ryou more than Ichigo and that most of my content was pretty general. The site was starting to get noticed so I decided to go ahead and challenge myself by making it a general Tokyo Mew Mew website. I never thought it'd get as big as it did, or as popular. This site really is my baby, though it is by no means my first website. My first attempt was a very pathetic attempt of a multi-series site I called The Saiyan Arena. My other big (sorta) website was a character shrine to Son Goten from Dragonball Z/GT called Goten Galore. I eventually gave up on that site as I lost interest in the series and found I wasn't working on it very much. This site is already much more complete than Goten Galore ever was. I'm a big fan of multimedia myself, so I tried from the start to have pictures no one had seen (screencaps originally), and soon learned to make music videos, and the rest of the content just fell into place. Platinum Blonde came about in November 2003. The site went through a number of different hosts, provided at one time by Vanilla who hosted a number of people. When her domain (ichigo-parfait.net) got hacked, I decided to invest in my own domain (neko-tokyo.net), which I later switched to MewProject.NET. With this I changed the site's name to be a little more welcoming to fans of all the dubs. I was debating between .net and .us, and whether to use mewmew or mewproject, but after asking people, this is what was decided on. As for the site's name, I suppose it doesn't really have one, but I refer to it mostly as MPN.
